POSITIONS

  • Responsibilities

    Collaborate with Alternative Gallery coordinator to reinvent current retail space with a given budget and timeframe

    Create eye-catching elements and engaging designs that provide a natural flow to the space

    Selection of fabrics, furnishings, artworks and other accessories/materials

    Organization of carpeting, fixtures, wall coverings, etc.

    Qualifications

    Currently studying design, commercial construction, or any other related field

    Candidates should exhibit design and technological sophistication and be self-starting, energetic, and creative

    Be able to communicate with Alternative Gallery coordinator to assess what they want and need in a space, and then present your ideas for meeting those goals in a compelling way

    Open to teamwork and artistic mindset

  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for the efficient operations and daily maintenance of the print lab

    Tracking print orders from submission to completion, including soft and hard proofs, communication with artists, billing, and logging print orders

    Oversight and maintenance of fine art digital print workflow using our in house printers

    Vinyl printing and cutting workflow, canvas stretching

    Color managing the entire print workflow, including scanners, computer monitors, printer profiles and paper profiles

    This is a flex role, so there may be opportunities to be trained on managing a retail store, event coordination, etc.

    Qualifications

    Currently studying art, graphic design,

    Thorough knowledge of color critical digital prepress and print workflow, including color management hardware and software, media profiling, printer queue scheduling, printer

    General organizational and communication skills

    Must be versatile and be able to shift quickly from one duty to another

    Experience in printmaking is preferable but not required

    Beneficial to have a passion for art/culture

  • Responsibilities

    Salvaging building items according to inquiry of Allentown Preservation League.

    Planning and implementing the identification, evaluation, and preservation of cultural and historic resources.

    Identifying the value and uses of reconstructible items.

    Identifying specialized tools and techniques needed to safely uninstall reusable items

    Qualifications

    Must be studying architecture, history, or any other related field.

    Passion for historic buildings and design excellence, collaborative spirit, willingness to learn

    Demonstrated ability to create a set of construction documents, and knowledge of contemporary and historic materials, details and construction

    18 years of age or older

    Valid driver’s license

  • Responsibilities

    Update inventory counts for the Alternative Gallery’s retail space. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies, and maintain inventory records to share with management

    Perform routine clerical duties, including data entry and supplier outreach

    Receive, unpack, and ship goods; re-stock items on the sales floor as necessary; organize shelves

    Become familiar with the budget and accurately assess what products are needed and how they can most efficiently be maintained

    This is a flex role, so there may be opportunities to be trained on printmaking, event coordination, etc.

    Qualifications

    Currently studying supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or any other related field.

    Ability to multi-task between stationary and non stationary tasks

    Attention to detail and organization skills

    Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data

    Prior experience with maintaining spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

    Beneficial to have a passion for art/culture

  • Responsibilities

    Respond to inbound requests from performers and agents

    Gather all relevant information to identify talent and build offers, negotiate with artists

    Confirm stage line-ups and work with other team members to ensure ticketing, announcements, on sale dates and marketing are coordinated.

    Work directly with talent/bands, & associates to coordinate onsite production and hospitality

    Coordinate assistance such as sound, staging/lighting, and other entertainment needs for each event

    Qualifications

    Flexibility to be available some nights and weekends (during scheduled events)

    Experience in music administration and management

    Knowledge of sound and staging tasks involved in music performance production

    Ability to take initiative and employ good judgment

    Communication skills to maintain positive relationships with all artists who come through The Alternative Gallery

    General understanding of artists and talent that are suitable for Alternative Gallery events, knowledge of the regional/Lehigh Valley music scene is a plus!

  • Responsibilities

    Develop comprehensive knowledge of The Alternative Gallery’s business and funding circumstances

    Apply fundamental accounting principles and analytical skills to process The Alternative Gallery’s financial information completely and accurately

    Time and expense billing, job costing, expense allocations, fund accounting, programs and restricted funds tracking as well as comprehensive and customized reporting

    Attend brief weekly meetings with Alternative Gallery coordinator to discuss financials and needs

    Qualifications

    Currently studying finance, accounting, economics, or any other related field.

    Attention to detail and organization skills

    Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks on a timely basis while monitoring time spent

    Prior experience with maintaining spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

    Beneficial to have a passion for art/culture

    18 years of age or older

    Valid driver’s license

  • Responsibilities

    Work with Alternative Gallery director to set quarterly, annual and longer-term objectives

    Research and identify grant funding opportunities

    Write, submit and manage grant proposals

    Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents

    Prepare and produce documentation and reports for meetings and campaigns

    Qualifications

    Currently studying marketing, English, business management or any other related field

    Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Previous experience writing grant proposals is a plus

    Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals
